"Linking people to people, agency to agency and need to solution".
What is Connection?
Connection provides a forum of collaborating partners (from health and human service agencies and organizations, corporations and businesses, educational systems, emergency services, churches, programs, government, civic groups, individuals, etc.) to ensure all Scott Countians have access to dependable and needed community services.
What are Connection's goals?
Partners communicate and coordinate available services and resources to identify potential gaps in the community. Partners work together for all Scott Countians to eliminate the barriers which prevent access to needed services and resources and to reduce duplication of the same services. Connection nurtures and values the addition of new partners and continues support for participating partners.
How does Connection accomplish this?
We have a scheduled monthly meeting, open to the public, on the fourth Wednesday of every month 11:45 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. in the Elijah Craig Room at Cardome Centre, Building One. Connection meetings provide a networking forum for all the partners (and visitors) to join together, enjoy a light lunch (provided by Connection free of charge), listen to a featured speaker and share announcements, including our activities, successes, needs and concerns. The group works together to identify gaps and needs in our community. Work groups, or committees, are formed to address these identified issues.
Can I be a partner?
Absolutely! Partners come from most all sectors of health and human service areas of Georgetown and Scott County.
